Incident Scene Overwatch
Pulsar’s thermal imaging systems such as the Thermion 2 riflescope give overwatch teams the ability to watch a perimeter without being limited by darkness, glare, or dense brush. Officers can track heat signatures as they move, maintain control over large outdoor scenes, and monitor suspect activity long before it becomes a direct threat. For standoffs, containment operations, and high-risk area security, Pulsar thermals give incident commanders reliable eyes on the environment and reduce the risk of sending officers into the unknown.
Observing Criminal Activity
Pulsar’s handheld thermals, like the Axion and Merger series, allow officers to monitor suspicious behavior without giving away their position. Thermal contrast cuts through foliage, darkness, and obstructed angles, making it easier to track individuals who are loitering, casing a location, or attempting to evade detection. This gives officers real-time intelligence they can act on without escalating the situation too early.
Surveillance
Long-duration surveillance becomes more effective when officers can maintain visual contact without relying on visible light. Pulsar units provide extended detection ranges and crisp thermal signatures, allowing teams to watch patterns of movement, identify vehicles of interest, and coordinate quietly from concealed positions. Whether mounted or handheld, these optics help officers gather accurate information before moving in.
Positive Identification
In chaotic or low-light environments, Pulsar thermals help officers distinguish between threats, bystanders, and other responding units. High-resolution sensors and precise imaging make it easier to recognize weapons, posture, and behavior at distance, reducing the risk of misidentification. When every decision must be made under pressure, thermal clarity supports safer, more confident action.
Video Evidence
Pulsar devices equipped with onboard recording allow officers to document what they see in real time, preserving thermal video that can later support reports, training, or court proceedings. Recording heat-based activity creates an objective record of movements, searches, and suspect behavior that would otherwise be lost in darkness. Thermal video gives agencies another layer of documentation that pairs cleanly with body-worn and dash-mounted footage.
