Chip Dillard
About
Pro Staffer Chip Dillard lives and hunts in central Alabama. He learned how to deer, rabbit, and dove hunt from his father, whose beagles made rabbit hunting a fall and winter staple growing up. Chip's interest turned to predator hunting in the '90s after moving to northern Nevada and picking up a Johnny Stewart cassette tape predator caller β after that first coyote came in, he was hooked.
Upon returning to Alabama in 2006, Chip hunted as time allowed, working his way from lights, to night vision, and eventually thermal as he chased increasingly nocturnal coyotes. After retiring in 2019, he shifted his focus almost entirely to night hunting, spending 80 to 100 nights a year in the field. Over that time he's gained access to more than 75 properties across central Alabama, mostly cattle farms, and also culls feral hogs whenever landowners report sign or sightings.
Chip has owned several Pulsar thermal scopes over the years and currently runs a Pulsar Thermion 2 XL60 LRF paired with a Pulsar Helion 2 XP50 for scanning. He also pro staffs for thermal dealer ThermalHunting.com and tripod provider Warrior Tripods. Chip and his wife, Cindy, live in Vestavia Hills, AL, and enjoy exploring the National Parks and traveling abroad.
