David Hartzler
About
David Hartzler has been hunting predators for most of his life. Growing up in northern Minnesota along the Canadian border, he developed a love for the outdoors at an early age, starting with ruffed grouse and rabbits before moving into waterfowl and predator hunting. After relocating to Pennsylvania at age 13, David continued the traditions passed down by his father and uncles, calling predators with a red light and cassette player. Those early experiences built the foundation for a lifelong passion for chasing coyotes and constantly improving as a hunter.
Everything changed when his friend Ben Heartsfield introduced him to thermal hunting in his mid-20s. Since then, David has been dedicated to mastering the nighttime pursuit of predators, hunting coyotes across Pennsylvania, New York, Maryland, Texas, and New Mexico. The challenge of hunting after dark and the advantages modern thermal technology provides have fueled his passion ever since. Alongside fellow Pulsar Pro Staff member Dylan Treaster, David also co-founded the FnF Boyz YouTube channel, where they share their adventures, educate fellow hunters, and showcase the effectiveness of thermal optics in real-world predator hunting.
When he's not in the field, David's greatest blessings are his wife and their five children. He enjoys passing on his knowledge and love for the outdoors, especially to his sons, and helping preserve his hunting heritage for the next generation. David is thankful to God for every opportunity to hunt and gives all the glory to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. It's an honor to represent Pulsar and be part of a team that continues to push the boundaries of thermal technology while supporting hunters who share the same passion for the outdoors.
